Bishop In Team Of The Week (13/11/17)

Bishop In Team Of The Week (13/11/17)

Scunthorpe United are represented in the latest Football League team of the week that has been selected after this week's action.

The performance by Neal Bishop in the one nil victory over Bristol Rovers at the weekend at Glanford Park was enough to earn them a place in the side alongside the other most impressive performers in the Football League pyramid.

I think we'll already know ourselves, and not just based on the latest performance, why Bishop was selected as part of the team but explaining the choice - the FL blurb read.

'Another midfield man firing his team to a late victory was Neal Bishop, with the 36-year-old heading home in injury time for Scunthorpe against Bristol Rovers. Bishop stood out with a typically combative display and, after applying a significant amount of pressure, the Iron`s central midfielder eventually won them the points.'

It's always good to see the club represented in this way, and well played to Bishop for his recognition, but the most important thing about the weekend was of course the win.

Full Team:

Remi Matthews (Plymouth Argyle), Danny Grainger (Carlisle United), Ryan Inniss (Colchester United), Steve Old (Morecambe), Lee Holmes (Exeter City), Alex MacDonald (Mansfield Town), Neal Bishop (Scunthorpe United), Peter Pawlett (MK Dons), Harry Anderson (Lincoln City), Brett Pitman (Portsmouth), Chris Long (Northampton Town).

Manager - Derek Adams (Plymouth Argyle).
