Toney In Team Of The Week (28/3/17)

Toney In Team Of The Week (28/3/17)

Scunthorpe United are represented in the latest Football League team of the week that has been selected after this week's action.

The performance by Ivan Toney in the three two victory over Bradford City at the weekend at Glanford Park was enough to earn them a place in the side alongside the other most impressive performers in the Football League pyramid.

I think we'll already know ourselves, and not just based on the latest performance, why Toney was selected as part of the team but explaining the choice - the FL blurb read.

'A thrilling match between Scunthorpe and Bradford City unfolded in front of the Sky Sports cameras on Sunday afternoon, and Toney was the star of the show. The on-loan Newcastle United striker scored three minutes into each half, including a fine bicycle-kick finish, as the Iron ran out 3-2 winners at Glanford Park.'

It's always good to see the club represented in this way, and well played to Toney for his recognition, but the most important thing about the weekend was of course the points.

Full Team:

Dean Lyness (Blackpool), Richard Duffy (Notts County), Sonny Bradley (Plymouth Argyle), Mark Beevers (Bolton Wanderers), Matt Dolan (Yeovil Town), Callum Camps (Rochdale), Josh Payne (Crawley Town), George Cooper (Crewe Alexandra), Ivan Toney (Scunthorpe United), John Akinde (Barnet), Chris Porter).

Manager - Luke Williams (Swindon Town).
