Daniels In Team Of Midweek (17/2/17)

Scunthorpe United are represented in the latest Football League team of the week that has been selected after this week's action.

The performance by goalkeeper Luke Daniels in the scoreless draw with Walsall in midweek at Glanford Park was enough to earn them a place in the side alongside the other most impressive performers in the Football League pyramid.

I think we'll already know ourselves, and not just based on the latest performance, why Daniels was selected as part of the team but explaining the choice - the FL blurb read.

'Scunthorpe were restricted to a point at home to Walsall on Tuesday night, but it was one they were thankful for after Daniels' display. The stopper made key saves from Simeon Jackson, Joe Edwards and Erhun Oztumer to help earn the Iron a 0-0 draw with the Saddlers.'

It's always good to see the club represented in this way, and well played to Daniels for his recognition, but the most important thing about the game was of course the point.

Full Team:

Luke Daniels (Scunthorpe United), Enda Stevens (Portsmouth), Peter Clarke (Oldham Athletic), Vincent Sasso (Sheffield Wednesday), Jake Buxton (Wigan Athletic), Jason Demetriou (Southend United), Kadeem Harris (Cardiff City), Jimmy Smith (Crawley Town), Gavin Massey (Leyton Orient), Tom Bradshaw (Barnsley), Billy Kee (Accrington Stanley).

Manager - David Artell (Crewe Alexandra).
