'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Wilcox misses out on monthly prize again

Wilcox has been nominated every month since he replaced Brian Laws as manager, having led the Iron to 24 games without defeat to match a Football League record for unbeaten matches after taking charge of a side.

But York boss Nigel Worthington took the honours for March, as the Minstermen claimed 19 points from a possible 21 to move to within touching distance of the play-offs.

Sky Sports` Football League pundit Don Goodman said: "York`s unbeaten month was underlined by the solid base that Nigel has given the team.

"Six clean sheets in seven games is a record that any club at any level would be thrilled with and the momentum is with York to march into the Play-Off positions, if they can keep it going in April."

Rochdale midfielder Jamie allen was named League Two Player Of The MOnth.
