'If It's Football, It's Vital'

We'll Be Up For Sheffield United

Brian Laws has said he'll be taking the Johnstone's Paint Trophy seriously after we were paired against Sheffield United in the first round.

Laws said the draw could've been kinder to Scunthorpe as the League One favourites will certainly be a tough test, but nontheless, he wants the club to progress in the competition.

'In the past we have enjoyed some considerable success in this competition, and that is something we will be looking for again. To have drawn Sheffield United is, for us, a great draw. It's at home which is important, that gives us something of an edge, but make no mistake, it's not just Sheffield United, it's a very strong league (Northern section of the draw) so you might as well play the teams that are the favourites.'

Laws says he'll be fielding a strong side for the game as anything can happen in football and he'll be looking for us to cause somewhat of an upset.
