Collins - We Want Winning To Become A Habit

Captain Michael Collins has said that Scunthorpe want winning to become a habit this season, and great confidence has been taken from our opening pre season game.

Speaking to the Official Site following the win, Collins said everybody was pleased to get the first game out of the way because as we are now into pre season fixtures it gives the players a boost and a renewed focus on all the hardwork they've just put in to get ready so far.

'Some of the sessions have been really difficult, but it's the games that really test your fitness. They're where you pick up your fitness. The first five minutes, I think you could see that we hadn't played together for a while. But after that, we got on top.'

Speaking of the win itself he added that it was good for us to get off to a winning start to get the boost of starting pre season well after what happened last year.

'It was important to get off to a winning start, because that's going to be the emphasis this season. It's well documented that pre season isn't about results, but from a players' point of view, it's nice to instil that winning mentality from the off. Winning becomes a habit.'
