'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Squad Passes Fitness Tests

Brian Laws welcomed the players back for a one off training session to assess how they had kept their fitness levels over the summer.

The 18 lads had been given strict programmes to follow during the holidays and Laws told the Official Site that he was pleased to see the plans had been adhered to.

'I'm delighted with the pre season tests. Obviously we are a week ahead of schedule because the players are not due back officially until June 27. We brought them in a week early to make sure that they are on top of their game and that they have kept to the schedules that we asked them to. I'm delighted to say that they have done.'

Laws adds the most pleasing thing for him about this is that he didn't expect anyone to fail and with the players passing their tests it means they are mentally ready and in the frame of mind he wants them to be for the coming challenges.
