'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Collins - Relegation Was Inevitable

Midfielder Michael Collins has said that with the season we had relegation was inevitable, even though everybody was hoping for a miracle on the final day of the season.

Speaking to the Official Site somewhat after the dust has settled, he said.

'Even though we won 3-1, it's bitter disappointment. Over the course of the 46 games, we've not done enough. You can never rely on other people and that's down to us that we had to. That should never have been the case. Ultimately, we've paid the worst possible price.'

Collins has called on what remains of the squad to start next season brightly and take the form we showed when it was ultimately too late into the new campaign to give us some momentum and give the fans something to actually cheer about.
