Laws To Overhaul Playing Staff In The Summer

Brian Laws has said apathy is ingrained in the dressing room at Scunthorpe and the only way he can address that is by making big changes to the playing squad.

Speaking to the Official Site in an interview where Laws explains that he is still going to try and see a return of six points from two games following the loss to Bury, something else stands out as far more important when it comes to the future of the club.

'They are as quiet on the park as they are off it and it comes as no surprise it's only us (the management team) doing the talking. It's been like that all year and the year before that and it's ingrained in the football club, the dressing room and the only way you can change that is to change the players.'

Laws says with the financial situation the club was in last summer it wasn't something he could do, but the end of the season gives him that opportunity to change a lot of players and...

'That is something that we will be doing. It's the only forward. We have to bring in players who care about this club.'

Laws also says that not only are some players playing for their future and another chance at this club, but importantly a number of them are playing the final two games for the sake of their careers because they have to find a new club come the summer.

Rightly he doesn't name names on who sounds like they are definitely out the door, and fans will have their own opinions on that, but he hasn't yet entered into contract talks with anybody because of not knowing for definite what division we would have been in next season.

That question however unfortunately seems settled following the Bury loss and Laws himself says 'it will take a miracle' to survive now.
