Scunthorpe Beaten By Flying Yeovil

Yeovil 3-0 Scunthorpe
16th February 2013
15:00
Huish Park

Scunthorpe and Yeovil would have both gone into the League One meeting on Saturday optimistic of getting a result, however it was Yeovil who kept up their flying form.

Yeovil had plenty of chances to take the lead before Byron Webster (28) finally did this when he headed home just before the half hour mark.

Scunthorpe not only felt they were denied the chance of an equaliser, but also denied the chance of playing the remainder of the game against 10-men when Akpo Sodje seemed to be fouled by The Glovers goalscorer when clean through? The referee gave nothing and so incensed was Iron boss Brian Laws that he was sent to the stands for his protests.

The hosts continued to pressure and a penalty from James Hayter (72) extended their lead with the League One top goalscorer Paddy Madden (75) adding his 18th for the season, and Yeovil's third of the afternoon minutes later.

The 3-0 defeat was Scunthorpe's first defeat in four, while Yeovil made it eight successive victories to move into the play off places.
