'If It's Football, It's Vital'

A Huge Win

Brian Laws tried to downplay the importance of the game against relegation rivals Portsmouth on Tuesday, however following victory his true thoughts have come out.

Following the 2-1 win at Glanford Park on Tuesday Laws admitted how important the game, and the result, was: 'It was a huge win for us. This was probably our biggest game of the season. It had been built-up as a 'must-win' game and the players were under real pressure.

'I have to admit we didn't play well but what really pleased me was the way the players dug in and kept going, knowing we could win, even without being at our best.

'We can play better, but we'll not get many more important results than this.'

The win was The Irons first at home in over four-months, and only the second Glanford Park win of the season, with it enough to take them out of the bottom four.
