Scunthorpe secured a crucial away victory at Colchester on Saturday to move out of the League One relegation zone at the expense of their opponents!
Both sides had chances with Colchester denied a goal by a goal line clearance before Jimmy Ryan (41) blasted home a fine strike to send Scunthorpe into the lead a goal up.
A dream start to the second half saw Karl Hawley (46) extended the lead instantly with the woodwork denying The Iron a third and fourth goal!
Colchester set up a nervous final thirty-minutes when Freddie Sears (59) pulled a goal back for the hosts but they couldn't find an equaliser as they slipped to a 2-1 defeat, a club record ninth in a row.
