Former Preston striker joins Scunthorpe

Former Preston striker joins Scunthorpe

Akpo Sodje has signed a deal with Scunthorpe until the end of the season.

In something of a slightly ironic nature Sodje has signed for The Iron whilst former Scunthorpe striker Joe Garner has completed a move to Preston to replace him at Deepdale.

32-year-old Sodje had been playing on month-to-month contracts with Preston, leaving them last month when he turned down their latest offer in the hope of getting a long-term deal elsewhere.

Seven goals in 17 outings for Preston was a good return, how Scunthorpe could do with some of these goals between now and the end of the season from the vastly experienced striker who previously played under Brian Laws at Sheffield Wednesday, another of his 14 clubs to date.
