Cherries extend run against Scunthorpe

Scunthorpe 1-2 Bournemouth
8th December 2012
15:00
Glanford Park

Scunthorpe weren't able to stop the unbeaten run that Bournemouth have been on since Eddie Howe returned to The Cherries, it was they who went away from Glanford Park with the points.

Bournemouth were ahead through Lewis Grabban (27) before the half hour mark, but instantly Scunthorpe had a chance to level when a handball gave them a penalty. A poor effort from Vince Grella was saved by David James though.

The missed penalty was punished within a minute when Wes Fogden (30) extended the lead.

Just before the midway point of the second half The Iron got another penalty, this time Karl Hawley (64) converted to give the hosts hope.

Teenager Jamie Wootton, who had played in a youth game earlier that day, was drafted into the Scunthorpe squad due to the growing injury and suspension problems and got his debut 10-minutes from time but this couldn't prevent the hosts losing 2-1.
