No long-term concerns over Iron future

Dave Beeby, general manager of Scunthorpe, has moved to calm fears that the clubs long-term future is at risk.

Losses of almost 2m for the financial year ending June 2012 were posted this week but Beeby, as he told BBC Radio Humberside, insists the clubs future isn't in doubt: 'The long-term future of the club is not in jeopardy. Obviously it's not great but the losses we've made have been covered.

'The losses were expected but going forward we need to make sure we don't incur such large losses in the future.'

Clearly improvement is needed but these comments are reassuring to hear.
