Knee injury sidelines Mirfin

The injury suffered by David Mirfin in the FA Cup defeat at Gillingham the weekend before last will see him sidelined until after Christmas.

Mirfin, who returned to Scunthorpe permanently this summer from Watford, has suffered ligament damage and this will keep him out for at least six-weeks, more likely eight.

Losing the 27-year-old is a setback but his replacement, Niall Canavan, has come in and done a job so every cloud and all that!
