Brian Laws remains unbeaten as Scunthorpe manager in league football, a second successive win since his return was wrapped up with a win at Coventry on Saturday.
Coventry, a relegation rival of Scunthorpe at this juncture, took the lead through Carl Baker (35) and looked on course to go into the break ahead, that was until a late penalty award gave Scunthorpe the chance to level.
Leon Clarke (43) made no mistake to equalise, and send the sides into the break all-square.
Clarke should have added another in the second half but he couldn't convert, however with time running out Clarke (76) made amends with his goal giving The Iron a 2-1 win.
