Scunthorpe were denied a first win of the league one season by a late Sheffield United equaliser at Glanford Park on Saturday, the visitors ending with nine-men.
Michael Doyle (15) saw red for Sheffield United early on, but even so the sides still went in level (at least in terms of the scoreline) at the break.
On the hour Leon Clarke (60), the new Iron signing, scored to put Scunthorpe ahead and the chances of the hosts winning for the first time in the 2012/13 season looked to increase when Ryan Flynn (72) was sent off for The Blades to reduce them to nine for the final minutes.
The nine-men of Sheffield United, who had missed other chances, amazingly managed to force a 1-1 draw when Neill Collins (83) struck late on.
