Hartlepool 2-0 Scunthorpe
Scunthorpe's miserable start to the league one season continued as they suffered defeat once more, this time at Hartlepool on Saturday afternoon.
Jonathan Franks' (23) strike midway through the first half saw Hartlepool go into the break at Victoria Park a goal to the good.
When Josh Walker handled to keep out an Antony Sweeney effort the Scunthorpe man was shown a straight red card and Hartlepool awarded a penalty. Sam Slocombe kept The Iron in the game though as he saved Steve Howard's spot-kick.
An equaliser couldn't be found with the hosts wrapping up a 2-0 win late on when Luke James (86) scored.
