No reward for defeated Scunthorpe

Result - Scunthorpe 1-2 Crewe

Scunthorpe made it back to back defeats when they suffered a home reverse against Crewe at Glanford Park on Tuesday.

Visiting Crewe got off to a dream start when AJ Leitch-Smith (1) put them ahead with less than a minute on the clock! Mike Grella (15) ensured Scunthorpe went into the break level though equalising shortly after.

The Iron paid the price for not taking their chances when Luke Murphy (73) scored the winner for Crewe to hand then a 2-1 victory.

The woodwork might have denied The Iron but this also denied Crewe.

Although Scunthorpe might have dominated most of the second half a failure to take the chances on offer ultimately cost them!
