Manchester United XI held by Scunthorpe

Even if they weren't all out and out members of the Manchester United first-team squad the XI that came to Glanford Park on Friday was still a top quality one for Scunthorpe to contend with.

The likes of Bebe and Federico Macheda, who had a goal disallowed early on, have first-team experience under their belt and summer signing Nick Powell will be hoping to do this in the season ahead.

Duffy gave Scunthorpe the lead, which was taken into the half time break but the United XI did get onto level terms in the second half to see the game end in a 1-1 draw.

Another number of minutes on the pitch by a number of players that will be heavily involved in the first-team this season is the main thing to take from this game, holding Manchester United (an XI or not) to a draw is a bonus though!
